Ready To Make a Differance?
As an HBM mission team member, you will be part of an incredible and transformative experience! Serving on a mission field is life-changing for those whose lives you touch and for you. The opportunity to travel, connect with new cultures, and share Christ will deepen your faith and compassion.
Our Mission
We have three goals for our trip: 1) win souls for Christ, 2) support missionaries and 3) see each team member develop a love for missions.
Ministry opportunities include:
- Bible clubs
- A ministry in the public schools,
- Gospel track distribution,
- Security wall construction
- and much more
The Missionaries
You’ll work alongside church planting missionaries Maynor & Anna Muñoz at Iglesia Bautista La Cruz in Choluteca, Honduras. Our primary mission is to bring souls to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. We have outreach through preaching, movies, children’s ministries, teaching in public schools, children’s homes, bible institutes, and more.
In 2018, Pastor Munoz was called upon to leave my home to preach at a church where the pastor had died. The Lord used this opportunity to show me that He had called me into full-time service. Before this, I had just helped serve in my father’s church, but the Lord used this situation to call me.
Our Leader
Mark Schuler, a Heartland Director, and Mrs. Susan Schuler served for seventeen years as missionaries on the island of Roatan, Honduras, where they started a Baptist church and a Christian school.
Our Team
Would you like to invest in the lives of people? Would you like a new and personal perspective on missions? God can use you in the country of Honduras!
This summer, we have the unique opportunity to serve in and around Choluteca, Honduras. We will use our gifts as an avenue to produce an opportunity to share the gospel. No matter what your skills are, there will be opportunities for everyone to serve throughout this ten-day mission trip.
Our team will serve not just in a community setting but also in the local church, providing opportunities for ministry throughout this action-packed trip. We will equip you with the tools you need for the trip. The only requirements are to be humble, flexible, team-minded, and willing to serve and work hard.
We have six openings for students from Pensacola Christian College. The team will partner with Smyrna Baptist Church, which will be invaluable in outreach and ministry as we serve the Lord together.
Our Mission Field
Honduras is the second-largest country in Central America and one of the poorest nations in Latin America. For many years, the great majority of Hondurans were Catholic, but the country has been heavily evangelized to the point where many have left the Catholic church. However, as in most countries, the majority of Hondurans remain unsaved.
The good news is that the Honduran people are very open to listening to a gospel presentation. In fact, in most cases, they will readily listen to a gospel presentation at almost any time. And they rarely reject the presenter.
Please pray about joining us as we seek to present the good news of eternal life to the many unsaved Hondurans in all walks of life.
