Dr. Roy Chestnut
Founder
1937-2023
Throughout Dr. Chestnut’s Ministry, he had a passionate heart for missions. Under his leadership at Valley Baptist Church, where he pastored for 32 years, a strong mission program was established, which continues to this day.
With God’s leading, Dr. Chestnut established Heartland Baptist Missions in 1996.
In October 2002, Dr. Chestnut resigned from Valley Baptist Church and began a full-time ministry to Romania, being sent by Smyrna Baptist Church.
From 2013 to 2022, Dr. Chestnut assumed the full-time position as President of Heartland Baptist Missions.

Our desire is to serve missionaries and local churches by preparing the missionary and challenging Christians with the needs that exist around the world. We assist the missionaries as they carry out their pre-field, on-field, and furlough ministries by providing training, resources, accountability, and financial accounting, through our service at the home office. On the field with the missionaries, we continue much of the same work as well as hold Bible Clubs, teach classes, help in the church work, building projects, listen, pray, counsel, and do anything to encourage them. We count it a blessing and a privilege to serve a wonderful group of missionaries and the churches which send them out.
Pastor Bill Adams
Vice-President
Pastor Bill Adams serves as the Vice-President. Afer moving to Oswego, IL It was in Oswego, IL. where he was saved under the ministry of Pastor Roy Chestnut, and the Valley Baptist Church. Upon graduation, he attended Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, TN. Pastor Adams holds a Bachelor’s Degree in theology as well as a Master of Ministry degree from Great Plains Divinity School in Sioux Falls, SD.
Pastor Adams has served as Assistant Pastor at Valley Baptist Church in Oswego, IL.; Founder and Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Mitchell, SD.; Pastor of River Lake Baptist Church in Waverly, TN.; and for the past 17 years, as Pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Manchester, TN. He now assumes the leadership of Smyrna Baptist Church, in Pensacola, FL. In 2001 Dr. Chestnut move to Pensacola bring Heartland Baptist Missions with him.

As we share the Gospel and the power that comes through salvation in Him, lives are changed, leaders motivated to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and preachers, who are dedicated to service for the Lord, are trained to plant fundamental Bible believing Baptist churches.

As we share the Gospel and the power that comes through salvation in Him, lives are changed, leaders motivated to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and preachers, who are dedicated to service for the Lord, are trained to plant fundamental Bible believing Baptist churches.
