Missionaries to the Native Americans of the Northwest

Testimony

I did not grow up in a Christian home. I accepted the Lord at age 17 after a godly lady shared the gospel with me over the CB radio, but I did not begin truly following Him until I was 24. Through the bus ministry, Deb and I were invited to attend an independent Baptist church in our area, where Deb accepted Christ soon afterward. Within three years, the Lord called me to preach. With guidance from my pastor, we moved to Florida so I could attend Bible college. While there, the Lord burdened my heart for my own people—a forgotten people, the Native Americans of the Northwest. I accepted that call and began to prepare.

After a year on deputation, Deb and I, along with our two children, arrived on the Blackfeet Reservation in the spring of 1991. Because I am a member of the Blackfeet Tribe in Montana, the Lord opened many doors for ministry. We were able to step into an existing work and help start two other churches. The Lord blessed the work, and after ten years, we turned it over to another pastor when He called us to begin a work on the Yakama Reservation in Washington State.

With God’s leading, we started Lower Valley Indian Baptist Church in 2001, which was later changed to Yakama Valley Baptist Church, and the work continues to grow. We remain on the Yakama Reservation until the Lord directs us elsewhere.

Vision

Our vision is to reach as many people as possible with the gospel in the Pacific Northwest by planting churches on Indian reservations. We seek to honor the Lord by working alongside local communities to establish and grow independent Baptist churches. Through one-on-one discipleship, we train and encourage servants to grow in the faith and be prepared for the Master’s use.
